Many small businesses experienced a significant revenue drop, with an estimated 33% projected to run out of money within one month of the pandemic’s start. To counteract this, Canadian federal and provincial governments quickly set up support programs, including wage subsidies, rent assistance, special interest loans, and emergency relief programs. The government also worked with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to offer an informational bridge to help small businesses navigate and understand the various support programs available.
